Brighton stuns Liverpool with 3-0 home victory

It was a shocking result at the Amex Stadium on Saturday as Brighton and Hove Albion defeated Liverpool 3-0. The Seagulls put on a dominant performance, with goals coming from Solly March (2) and Danny Welbeck.

The first goal of the match came in the 47th minute, when March received a pass from Welbeck and calmly finished with his left foot to give Brighton the lead. The second goal, in the 53rd minute, was a thing of beauty, as March received the ball just outside the box and unleashed a rocket of a shot that beat Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker.

Brighton’s third goal came in the 81st minute when Welbeck capitalized on a defensive mistake by Liverpool to score his first goal for the club. The former Arsenal man had a great game, providing the assist for March’s first goal, as well as scoring his own.

The loss for Liverpool was a bitter pill to swallow, as they are now sitting in 9th place in the league table, and are in danger of missing out on the top four. This is in stark contrast to Brighton, who are now sitting in 7th place, and looking like they could be in for a very successful season.

March was the star of the show, with 2 goals and an assist, but the whole Brighton team played with a level of intensity and desire that Liverpool couldn’t match. The Seagulls will be pleased with this result and will be looking to continue this form in their next match.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will have to regroup and find a way to turn around their poor form. With just a few games left in the season, the Reds will need to win most of their remaining matches if they hope to finish in the top four and secure Champions League football for next season.
