FC Barcelona are on the brink of securing their first La Liga title in four years. With just one more win required to be crowned champions of Spain. They currently hold a 13-point lead over second-placed Atletico Madrid. A victory tomorrow over Espanyol would confirm their status as the best team in the country.
BARCELONA’S DIER LEADERSHIP VOID
One of the keys to Barcelona’s success this season has been their strong defensive record. With several players shining in the centre of defence. Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen have all been exceptional. Helping the team keep a tight grip on their opponents. The new signings really helped bolster the squad even when the team was reeling with injuries.
Gerard Pique also played a significant role in the title run for FC Barcelona. Appearing in six matches before announcing his retirement in November. In his pre-match press conference (via Relevo), Xavi Hernandez confirmed that Pique will be invited to join the club’s celebrations.

“Pique is a special case because he retired. He did not go to another team, as in other cases. We have thought about it, and we will notify him and invite him to celebrate the league with us,” Xavi said.
While celebrations may be on the horizon, Xavi and his team are fully focused on securing the La Liga title this weekend. The players will be eager to finish the season on a high note and cement their status as the best team in Spain. To top it all of they will be hoping to do so with a resounding victory over their local rivals.
