Gavi, a young midfielder, had aimed to take the number 6 jersey, which was previously worn by the legendary Xavi. He had impressed coaches and fans alike with his performances in the youth teams and was seen as a natural successor to Xavi. Many fans were excited to see Gavi debut in the first team and take over the number 6 jersey.

The decision from La Liga came after Barcelona’s 1-0 victory in the Copa del Rey against Real Sociedad. This means that Gavi will have to continue wearing the No. 30 jersey for the time being, and his dream of wearing the number 6 will have to wait.
