Vinicius Junior had a fierce effort saved by Remiro, and Madrid continued to suffocate Sociedad with pressure, playing almost exclusively in the final third of the pitch and moving the ball around with incredible speed.
Despite Real Madrid’s dominance, Real Sociedad was able to weather the storm and grew back into the game around the 65th minute. Takefusa Kubo had two chances in the space of five minutes, but both were eventually saved by Thibaut Courtois.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side had their best chance of the game after 70 minutes, when Vinicius Junior skipped past two defenders and attempted to chip Remiro, but the goalkeeper was able to claw it away with a fantastic save.
Real Madrid continued to push forward in numbers for the last ten minutes, but for all their pressure, Real Sociedad defended extremely well and limited the hosts to very little in terms of clear-cut chances.
